First of all I like to introduce myself. My name is Hennie La Grouw and I was born in Amsterdam the 6h. October 1962 in a real pigeon loving family. My grandfather, father and uncles (La Grouw Bros.) they all were or are pigeon fanciers. My storie with the pigeons starts in 1978 when I raced a number of late bred youngsters from my present address. The youngsters were purchased by my father as a present from the in those times famous fanciers Wegman and Offerman in Haarlem. Both became famous by the Janssen pigeons which were excellent racers up to a distance of 300 km's. Due to the fact that I loved and still do the one day longdistance races we had to look after strong pigeons suitable for the longer distance. In 1985 my granddad passed away and my brother Steve became my partner. We raced under the name Comb.La Grouw Bros. and with lots of success. In 1985 by brother found other interests and most of the pigeons were sold. In 1996 I made a new start in the most important and strongest club of Amsterdam with members s.a. Fanger Bros, Meerman and Sirach & Son. |
